Steak with Yogurt and Commandaria sauce

Ingredients

4 beef fillet steaks

1 large onion, finely chop

2 cups mushrooms, cut in halves

1 cup commandaria

3 tbsp olive oil

300g Zita Super Strained yogurt

3 tbsp fresh mint, chopped Pepper

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

In a pan, heat 2 tablespoon olive.

Add onions and cook until transparent. Add mushrooms and stir-fry until they are lightly browned, reduce heat to medium. Season with salt and pepper.

Add commandaria and stir until alcohol evaporates. Remove from fire.

Rub steaks with salt and pepper.

In a cast iron or stainless steel skillet add 1 tablespoon olive oil until hot. Sear steaks approximately 5-7 minutes both sides. Transfer to the preheated oven and cook for 5-15 minutes, according to your taste. Remove to rack and let rest for 10 min.

In a bowl add Zita Strained yogurt, whisk until smooth and blend in the commandaria-mushroom mixture. Add chopped fresh mint, season and mix well.

Serve steaks with the commandaria yogurt sauce on top or on the side. Enjoy!
